Far-Infrared Sauna
What does an infrared sauna do?
Bathing in heat for detoxification and purification dates back centuries. Sweating is crucial for health as it allows the lymphatic to properly move and detox the body. For those unable to exercise to the point of dripping in sweat or who choose different forms of exercise, time in a sauna is a great option to detoxify the body and allow the lymphatic system to flow. The increased heat also results in a heart rate elevation to that of moderate physical activity, like "passive cardio." An elevated heart rate improves cardiovascular health like cardio, without the musculoskeletal involvement.

How long should I spend in the sauna?
A traditional sauna heats the air first, then you become warm from the heated air. Infrared saunas are unique in that the infrared light penetrates the body and heats the body directly. This allows infrared saunas to have the same effect at a much lower heat.
The far infrared wavelength can penetrate the deepest past the skin. This means that of the infrared sauna options, saunas, like ours, with far infrared the most powerful in their healing benefits. Fun Fact: Far Infrared saunas are the only type of sauna that releases dynorphin, a hormone that helps us heal and causes the body to release endorphins.
If you are new to the sauna, our recommendation is to start with short sessions, maybe 15-20 minutes. From there you can choose to work your way up to 30-45 minutes. It can also be a a great idea to take a break every 15 minutes to drink some water and cool down a little. Our policy is to limit sessions to a maximum of 60 minutes. Past 60 minutes you are likely to lose too many minerals and too much water.
